Daily Mercy
A wise older man once told a young Chuck Swindoll that “the hardest thing about life is that it’s so daily.” I can’t help but think of that when I read Matthew 5:7. Christ has called us to live a life of mercy in our daily life around our family, our co-workers, and our community. We may not be called on to die for Christ this week, but we surely have been called to live for him. Here are a few thoughts from this verse that didn’t make into last Sunday's sermon.

Are You Willing To Help Me Preach This Sunday?
Are you willing to help me preach this Sunday? You might be thinking, "Not me; I don’t like public speaking." Don’t worry; I’m not going to ask you to stand and deliver a sermon. Putting The "-Ing" In Living
Meditate on this marvelous statement from the great Princeton theologian Charles Hodge in his book The Way of Life:
"We cannot make progress in holiness unless we devote much time to the reading, hearing, and meditating upon the Word of God, which is the truth whereby we are sanctified. The more this truth is brought before the mind; the more we commune with it, entering into its import, applying it to our own case, appropriating its principles, appreciating its motives, rejoicing in its promises, trembling at its threatening, rising by its influences from what is seen and temporal to what is unseen and eternal; the more we may expect to be transformed by the renewing of our mind so as to approve and love whatever is holy, just, and good."

The Importance of Evangelism
Evangelism, or sharing the gospel, is one of the most neglected components of the Christian life for many believers. Moving To Two Services
Now that we have begun offering two services on Sunday morning, I think it would be helpful to remind everyone again of the purpose for doing so. Over the last few years Pastor Randy, the Pastoral Staff, and the Pastoral Council recognized the need for our church to move to two services if we want to continue to grow and reach the island with the gospel. Although 2020 has presented many challenges, it has also provided the right time for us to make this move. Initially, two services were our only options for health and safety purposes, but as we continue to re-gather it has become clear that this is the best way forward for our church. Here are a few reasons for making the unified move around the mission of God through two services.
